Music on friday !
On friday third lesson we had music at Brooke site, this was because all the Steel pans were there because there was a concert later on that day. I was on time to class but some people were late. After i helped set up all the Steel pans and everyone arrived we began playing 'winter wonderland', and i have to say the first time we went though it we got through it all the way and made no mistakes what so ever, and that was suprising for me because usually there would be a few mistakes inbetween. We got through practicing that straight away and went on and started playing our piece that we made, we went through it a couple of times and FINALLY we did it! we actually got through the hole of that song too. That was definatley a good lesson.

Music !
Music last week !
Last week in music we carried on on the Steel pans.
In the lesson we started off with playing 'winter wonderland', and i think for the first time ever we actually got all the way through without any mistakes (that were noticeable anyway). After we went other that song, we carried on with our other piece that we all made up and i have to say its getting there. We almost got through the hole piece but there were still some hiccups, hopefully next lesson we will do better.

Drama !!
Drama !!
Today in Drama, straight away when we came into the classroom, Miss Williams talked with us about the date of our performance which is December the 14th.
Today again Aaliyah was absent which meant when we went through our panto Miss had to play the part of Snow white, and might i say she played it excellently obviously. We went through our play over and over again, first with our scripts and the last couple of times we went through it we went through it without our scripts, I already know all of my lines but I wasn't sure about some of my Ques, but when i did to it it sounded really good. Naomi who plays the Prince and one of the Gnomes played her parts really good, Shyanne did hers amazingly considering shes a narrator i found that she knew almost all of her lines. Shanel played her parts well also, though i did find that Jessica did know her lines though she made a few hiccups, and didn't come in at the right time some of the time.
Miss told us that if Aaliyah doesn't turn up for anymore sessions that she will have to get someone else to play the part of snow white, and to play the seconds on the steel pans.

Today in media I finally finished editing my photos to make as cards. I used the site picnik again, In the end i had three autunm pictures and three winter pictures. This were my finished winter photos:
In this picture i went for a plain blue theme, and i added snow, and added some snow thats built up around the picture. To change the colour i went to effects and went to tint, and the same with the built up snow. Though with the snow all around i went to features and went to holidays where i found the snow app. Lastley i went to text and wrote Season Greetings and put the colour as blue as i thought it went with the picture.
With this picture it started off with it
being really boring and plain and buildings in the background. when i edited this picture firstley i added a tint of blue, but then i realised the green bush at the side looked too plain so i though as its winter i could add dots of red to make it look like berrys and i thought that brought the plant out more. As this is also a winter photo i added the snow app again, i also added text that said Seasons greeings on it and put it in red because i thought it went with atmosphere of the picture. I also realised in the end leaves in winter are all colourless and dryed up and in this picture they look like that.
In this picture, the first thing i thought of again was blue tint, so i added that, and then i added red in some of the black bits of the tree to see what t looked like and it looked ok so i used it. The picture still looked uncomplete so i added the snow app once again, and then added the text which once again said Seasons Greetings and i used the same type of red as i used in the tree.
And these are my autumn photos:
With this picture before i did anything i auto fixed the picture which automatically brightened up the picture. And then i went to boost and as you can see all of the background with the leaves, grass trees, flowers and branches all got boosted to make the colours come out more and i think it looks really nice. After i finished with the boost i did the text and wrote Happy Holidays and colored it red as i thought it went with the background.
This picture is my favourite and it was also the first picture i took. I didnt have to do much to this picture, all i did was auto fix the picture, and add boost. I also added an app that made the picture a little bit more colourful and softened the picture a bit. I added the text and coloured it orangey red to match the leaves and the trees.
I also like this oicture alot, because of all the dfefrent types of flowers and the bits of grass, and the slightest bit of leaves. All i did with this picture was auto fix it and use the boost ap. I also used the same app as my last picture where it softens it slightly and adds ait more colour. With the text i wrote Happyy Holidays and coloured it red because i thought it went with the bits of red on the plants. This pictue was also cropped as before it had a bigger background and had chanel in it. I just thought it looked much better cropped with just the plants.
I really liked how these pictures turned out.

Dance !!
Dance !!
In todays lesson we had another substitute teacher, but this time we carried with our winter project. At first we all went into the library and researched winter because we had to made a bit of our own winter dance, so we had to research anything we wanted about winter that would inspire us in our dance. In our second lesson of dance we went back to our classroom and started on our dances. At first i was confused, and i didnt know what to do but in the end i got with it a bit. Almost at the end of class everyone showed eachother, eachothers dance's. I thought Naomi had the best dance but i still think every did good.

On Monday we had a little change in dance.
For one we had a new teacher,this is because mrs.Shrubbs broken her ancle so she wont be in for a few weeks, but with our new teacher i thought personally she was really nice and a great dance teacher, and from everybody Else's responses i think they liked her too. We didn't do anything that lesson to with winter. We just had a fun lesson, and miss taught us all a dance to lady gaga, which at first i found it hard but i got to grips with it, In the end i found it really fun.
In the beginning on the lesson Miss did a warm up with us, but it was a warm up i had never done before it was totally different. For the first time i actually had fun doing a warm up, I did loads of things i hadn't done before in a warm up, i can't remember off by hand what we was doing but it was really good that's all i remember.

Media !!
Yesterday in Media Mrs.Greig took me and the rest of the diploma students to Myattsfield park and told us we were going to take Autumnal pictures in the park. So she gave all of us one camera each and we was off to take pictures in the time we had.

It has many different effects you can add to your pictures, you can do stuff like add text, make you look orange or any colour you can think of, you can crop the photo, make it bigger or smaller, brighter darker, more colourful or less colourful anything you can think of. I used basic effects with my pictures though i think i made look catchy and nice to look at. Anyone can use this website its really easy.

Today in drama we went over our Snow white panto. We went through it a few times, and each time we had 10 minutes to learn our lines. In the end i learnt all my lines, i still need to practice though. some people are struggling more than others to learn all of their lines, but their still doing really good. During our triple lesson we also got into pairs and did a list of stuff we was meant to do, Shyanne and me had to do a list of costumes for the characters i did three and she did four characters, these were my three:

For the first time in Media today i actually had fun, and i think everyone else did too.
When everyone made it to the lesson, Mrs.Greig escorted all of us to a room that personally i haven't been before. It was a room filled with a different range of lights, a camera facing a wall, There was curtains up against the walls that u can move and make it a different colour for the different picture we took. We all got exited and Miss let us take some photos of each over for a bit to get used to the camera we was using, and then we got to work.
Mrs.Greig showed us the different lights, and stuff you can put over some of them to change the colour of the lighting. At one point we was in the dark and there was these small lights, and there was one person on each side of the lights and they had to do different shapes in the air and all around, the reason for this was because Mrs.Greig changed the settings on the camera so that it didn't take the picture normally, it would take a little bit longer, and once the picture was taken everyone gathered round the photo to find the picture looked amazing, it was pitch black but you could see the lights, and it looks like the lights had been smudged across the screen in different shapes, and it looked really nice. Hopefully i can get a picture and put it on my next blog.

This is a audio of the song ' Watcha talkin bout ' that we did.
In yesterdays lesson we was all playing on the Steel pans again.
We carried on with ' Winter wonderland ' and as always i play on the Tenor pan. I've started to notice that when we first started playing on the steel pans there was three people on the Tenor pan, me Jessica and Ilenia, and i don't find the Tenor pan hard to play, but as i watch my classmates who also play the same pan as me i noticed that they find it very hard to play it, they even said it themselves. As Damilola quit, Ilenia agreed with Mr.Fox that she should give another Pan a go and so she started to play the pan that Damilola used to play. I though personally she was much better on it.
During the lesson we didn't get as much as i would have liked done, the reason for this is because Naomi wasn't there to play the main Pans, so Mr.Fox couldn't help us all because he was everywhere trying to play the Pans and helping people that we didn't actually get to do a lot.This is a audio of the song ' Watcha talkin bout ' that we did.

Drama !!
Drama:
Today in Drama, we did our first successful run through of Jack and the Bean stalk all the way through. Unfortunatley Damilola who was doing creative and media diploma and played the role of The Landlord quit the course, and so now a person more suited to the role is now playing the role of The Landlord, and their name is me. I am happy that i got the part so now i have two parts, my other part of which i play The Giant, even though it means i have to work extra hard to learn my lines, it will hopefully be worth it.
Last week my class did a Presentation but as i was absent i didn't do it so i need to catch up.
Dance !!
Dance:
Today in Dance we had a double lesson, and Mrs.Shrubb's instructions for the lesson was to choreograph a dance to the music she gave us.
I worked with Chanel, i thought personally we were good partners because we both had good technique so we did well together. We made a really good dance which Mrs.Shrubb videoed and took pictures of which i will post soon. We used different techniques to our dance e.g ( Jose Limon technique, free flowing movements etc.) we did jumps, contraction and floor movements.
After we preformed in front of the class, Miss made us lie down on the floor and lie very still for about half an hour but it was hard to tell because we was all in our own world, during the time we was all lying down miss was telling us thing we should do and whats happening e.g ( Breath right down to the bottom on your lungs, and when you breath out your hole body will be Numb stuck to the floor e.t.c) at the end of our breathing session, when we all got up, i found that i wasn't flushed anymore or really hot and my hole body felt relaxed. By that time it was the end of the lesson.

For the past couple of weeks I've only done music due to my illness so i was absent a lot.
For the lessons i have been present for, me and my class have been playing the steel pans. I think that i am actually quite good at playing it, Me and jessica play the tenor pans, and its really fun because we get to do most of the tunes. I have noticed that jessica finds it very hard to adapt to the work we are given, but when she can do it she plays really good.
The first song we learnt was 'watcha talking bout' and i found that was quite easy, though our second song we are doing ' winter wonderland ' gets really hard towards the middle, but i like a challenge. This is pretty much all we have been doing in music.

My Dance PowerPoint presentation
In dance on Monday me and the rest of the class was working on our PowerPoint Presentation on Contemporary dance.
I researched three different choreographers called:
Jose Limon
Katherine Dunham
I learnt a lot while doing this PowerPoint like, the creator of contemporary dance was Isadora Duncan and what type of dance different dancers prefer. I also found out about the Duncan technique, The Limon Technique and The Dunham Technique. I found this PowerPoint very interesting because i learnt a lot.
I thought that on this task Jessica did very well as i found that she had done around 11 slides and wasn't half way finished.
I did find the task quite hard though as i couldn't really find words to describe what i was talking about.
I finished my slide and added some finishing touches to it and next week i will show it to the rest of my creative and media class.

Lesson 1/2: Media/ Drama
Today was my first lesson of media today, I didn't really have any expectations but i thought that it could have been a bit more interesting. As we got into the classroom we took our preferred seats and Mrs.Grieg gave us our instructions, which were to do a PowerPoint Presentation on photography and research as much as we can. So far in my PowerPoint Presentation i researched the history of Photography e.g When was the first Camera made, Who made it, what did the first camera look like e.t.c. The reason why i found it a bit boring was because for all the lessons Ive done in my creative and media so far we have been doing PowerPoint Presentations, though i know lessons aren't all about having fun. I found when i looked around that a few of my peers were doing very well especially Ilenia, i found that when i was on my 3rd slide she was on a mission with around 5 slides. As lesson two drama came along Mrs.Williams was very generous enough to let us do some more work on our PowerPoint Presentation for Media.

After coming to a final decision everyone decided we was going to preform Ali Baba, and we decided what parts we would like to play, and i decided i would like to play the part of Mustafa which is Aswin's right hand man. We got handed out our script for the play and went through some of it until the end of class.

On friday me and my creative and media group went on a trip to the BBC BLAST van, where there was a whole range of activities for us to do e.g One the activites was when you morth eachover faces from one to another and you have to take a picture of you and your partners face, after that you edit the pictures so that int he end you press play and amazingly your face changes into your friends face, i thought it was really good that i bluetoothed it to my phone so i can look at it in the future for fun.
Ther was another activity where on my own i could make my own story by moving the twig persons body part very slowly, and save it and move the persons body an inch more save it again and do the same over and over again untill your happy with what u have and press play, the twig person would move however you created it to e.g it could body pop, or just walk.
One activity was where we could inbetween a song introduce a song coming up next on the BBC BLAST radio.
There was one my friend quite liked which was when you could make your own song by putting in diferent beats and rhythms to what you prefered, in the end she bluetoothed it to her phone too.
My favourite activity was the graffiti wall where we could draw or write whatever we wanted, but i wrote my nick name ' Demsz! ' which took me around 15 to 20 minutes to do as i put my time and effort into it. I liked it so much that i took a picture of it on my phone and i also got a badge with with picture on it.
There wasnt many things i can say were bad but i do think that they could have maybe bad bigger badges, because the badges where so small that i could hardley see my drawing. Other then that i thought the BBC blast was actually quite good though i dont think i would recommend it.

First lesson

Today was my first lesson of dance, and I found out that me and only one other person will be our lessons together. Personally I think that having just two students in a class is much better then having 20 or more, the reason for this is because it gives us more of a chance to learn, and have the focus on us more from our teacher.
I found that today's lesson was quite good considering we didn't do much because it was our first lesson and we didn't have the correct clothing so we couldn't do as much practical as we wanted to, though I knew we wasn't meant to do a lot of practical. when we did do a bit of practical I found it easy to understand with no distractions. Our topic is winter and so we did a winter dance and then we made a spider diagram, in which we wrote everything that comes to mind when we think of winter. In the end we all shared our diagrams to each over.
I think I did good today, and I think there wasn't anything to improve on today. I think I did the spider diagram the best though I thought my partner did better in the practical, and I also don't think she needed to improve either. I finished all my work for this lesson and I learnt a thing or two about positioning myself and how to stand before preforming a certain dance.
